Favorite Cruelty Free/Vegan Skin Care Products

Sunday, October 29, 2017

You already know how much I love Derma E, and I have a both new and old product from them that I'm currently loving. Derma E has been stepping up their game in the Skin Care business and their vamped up packaging is to die for right now. Sleek, white, with a minimal design.

Derma is an $100 vegan and cruelty free brand with amazing products. Their packaging components are also recyclable as well. They also support the environment and global communities with each purchase they make.

Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil - $17.99

My favorite Oil makeup remover, well favorite out of all my makeup removers is Derma E's Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil combined with Argan and Jojoba oils. It is a rinse free cleansing oil that removes your makeup giving you a hydrated, moisturized and soft smooth skin with a dewy finish. Not only is it rinsing off your makeup, but it's also nourishing your skin. Now who doesn't want that?

I've used this product so much that I want to purchase so many when I'm out. I haven't touched another makeup remover or makeup wipe since using this products. The simplicity of being able to take off your makeup with oil while not having to fully rinse is great in my opinion.

It is so easy to use as well. All you have to do is use 2-3 pumps of the oil and rub it all over your face, then wipe it away with a warm wash cloth. This gets everything off, I mean everything. My face always feels amazing after using this and my face doesn't feel oily at all. It feels more hydrated and moisturized than anything. I've tried other oil makeup removers, and they don't compare to this product.

 Microdermabrasin Scrub - $32.50

A cult favorite exfoliate from Derma E is definitely their Microdermabrasion Scrub.  True Story,  I used this as a full body scrub when I first got it. My skin felt good and I thought I was using too much for its size and then I realized it's primarily for your face. Although you can use this on your body for your at home salon perfect treatment.

My skin is sensitive when it comes to exfoliates, so I have to be sure to be as gentle as possible while rubbing in circular motions. It has a finer texture so that the crystal blend doesn't absorb into your skin. It also helps diminishing fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars.

Combined with Dead Sea Salt to buff away dead skin cells and other essiantial ingredients not only scrubs away dead skin and roughness, but also nourishes the skin while making it easier for it to absorb products. I love using this when my skin is feeling rough and I need a nice touch up for the week. After doing my skin care routine too, it leaves my face feeling and looking amazing for days.

Dia De Los Muertos

Wednesday, October 25, 2017

Themed lipstick collections are always my favorite. From the packaging to the colors and of course the product names. I'm a sucker for a good lipstick collection and LA Splash is always coming through with awesome collections, and continously adding more. My current favorite is their 2016 Dia De Los Muertos liquid lipsticks.

Featuring six different metallic colors, this collection has by far been one of my favorite from LA Splash. I was able to get these four colors from Dollskill, on sale, and I'm dying to complete the collection. Although you can find the full collection on LA Splash Canada site.

The 6 different colors are Frida, La Bella Muerte, Milagros, El Catrin, El Beso, and Los Novios. All different unique mettalic shades with a beautiful design, different for each color.

I'm obsessed with packaging details. I will buy a product if the packaging is nice enough and I couldn't get this collection when it first came out, but when I saw it on another site, I had to get my hands on it. The four colors that I got were El Catrin, Frida, La Bella Muerte, and Milagros.

These colors apply like a smooth liquid lipstick and dry to a nice demi matte while also providing a beautiful metallic look. Be cautious though, a little goes a long way and the more you apply, the dryer it will feel. My suggestion is to apply a thin enough layer and let the lipstick dry fully. Don't rub your lips together when you're letting it dry as you can make the lipstick feel dry when it actually feels good on the lips. It's super long lasting, so touch up are only needed after a solid few hours.. granted you eat and drink.

Frida, El Catrin, La Bella Muerte, Milagros

Here are my true to color swatches with each liquid lipstick fully dried from top to bottom.. It's hard to capture the essence of the metallic from pictures, but in person they are so beautiful.

The intensity of the pigmentation is mind blowing and you really don't need a lot of product to get the true color to show. La Bella Muerte is definitely that color that makes you stand out and it's not one of your typical "every day" color, but it's amazing nonetheless.

Frida is a metallic coral shade with orange hues that is the perfect everyday red lipstick with a pop of glam. One of my go to colors that I tend to get a lot of compliments on and the metallic show of the color is really a show stopper.

El Catrin is a deeper red shade that is has a crimson hue to it. A darker shade of red to add extra boldness and a sexy addition to a full on glam look.

For the unconventional makeup lover, La Bella Muerte is the perfect shade to turn heads and give you an out of this world lip color. It has a mettalic brown hue with grey undertones that gives you a different kind of lipstick shade. A staple piece for one who goes out the norm when it comes to lipstick shades.

Milagros is a taupe-y nude color that intensifies your regular nude color. Perfect for the person who wants a metallic lip that is nude and you can wear with any look you pair it with. Although it is different than your normal nude color, this will make you feel even great about wearing nude colors.

This is a great collection and I can't wait to see what other collections they come out with. Right now they have their Classic Horror collection out that looks so bomb. I've always wanted to try their liquid lipsticks and I'm honestly in love with them. Have you ever tried LA Splash liquid lipsticks? Let me know in the comments down below!

Erno Laszlo: Vitamin C Peel

Sunday, October 15, 2017

Luxury Skin Care. Things we want to splurge on, but hesitate to. Is it really worth it? Am I paying for the brand or the quality? I'm here to introduce you to Erno Laszlo. One of the leading brands in Celebrity Skin Care since 1927.

As Erno Laszlo says himself; "Beautiful skin requires commitment not a miracle." He was also the first to create a skin care regimen in 1935. Loved by some of your favorite icons and celebrities. A brand that was so lucrative that you needed to be a member to be a part of. Now it's our chance to partake in this brand and follow the ideas of Erno Laszlo. Now on to this Luxurious Vitamin C Skin Peel..

I received this product complimentary for testing purchases, but as always ALL opinions are of my own. I was lucky enough to get sent Erno Laszlo's Lighten & Brighten White Marble Dual Phase Vitamin C Peel and two small samples of their Lighten and Illuminate Skin's Brilliance White Marble Translucence Cream. Wow. That was a mouth full. Retailing at $100, this skin peel is said to diminish your dark spots and even out your skin tone while illuminating your skin and moisturizing it. With Step 1 being the peel to exfoliate and Step 2 being the activator to help bring back moisture in your skin while illuminating it. It also has antioxidants and collagen boosters that refine and renew your skin. Combined with Vitamin C, Lactic Acid, and Carrot seed oil to bring out the best in your skin leaving it feeling smooth, moisturized, and illuminated while diminishing your dark spots and discoloring.  The Vitamin C reduces your dark spots and dullness while lightening the skin and helping to jump start collagen products.. The Carrot Seed oil heals and balances your skin that may feel dry or chapped while also fighting age spots and sun damage. While the Lactic acid gently exfoliates your skin to absorb, lighten your skin making it feel more hydrating and impacting your skin with healing nutrients.

Step 1 of the Dual Phase Vitamin C peel is their exfoliate. Now when I tell you this bad boy smells like fresh peeled oranges... I can literally smell it all day. With an oil based consistency, use the exfoliate to scrub away dead skin cells for 3 minutes. You might feel a little irritation, but you just have to be more gentle when rubbing it in. I know, 3 minutes seems like a long time.. But trust me when I say if you follow the instructions to a T, you will get the BEST results. Now when you are rubbing this gently into the skin, you will notice that after a minute and a half, the mixture begins to turn white on your face as if you're using a cleanser. The slight oil feel makes the exfoliate feel even more better in my opinion, with small grains to scrub your skin.

Step 2 is the activator. You mix this with the exfoliate already on your face by adding a droplet or two onto your hands and massaging it into the skin all over the peel. After 1 minute, rinse your face with warm water. This will activate the brightening and moisturizing activities and will boost your skin's natural radiance. This product feels thick but not overly thick and sticky. When massaging into the skin, it feels like it's wiping all your worries away. It peels away your skin to reveal your natural radiance instantly. Giving you skin that feels brand new, super smooth and soft, while illuminating and evening the tone of your skin.

When I first tried this product, I was shocked at how great my skin looked and felt. Instantly afterward, my face looked like it was glowing. My face was so bright and clear, you would have thought I put on the world's most fabulous and natural highlight. When I felt my skin, it felt as smooth as a baby's bottom. The feeling was instant but went away after a while but the illumination of my skin looked great. Now mind you, I work overnight shifts 5 days a week, so it's hard to cater to my skin properly and work with the right products given my schedule. Most times, I don't have the energy or the time, okay.. maybe laziness, to cater to my skin properly. It would look and feel rough at the end of the work week and trying this product for the first time, changed that. My skin was able to absorb my night time skin care routine so well that I felt like my skin was soaking up all the ingredients in my products. The next day when I was out, I was getting so many compliments on my natural skin and was told I looked like I was glowing!

Now I bet you're probably wondering now, is this luxury skin peel worth the price? My honest answer is yes. If you're someone who is committed to your skin care routine that you follow religiously, then this is the product for you. Not only does it have a sleek, minimal design, but the overall quality of the product is amazing. It's something you don't have to use everyday and if you're light handed with your products, it can go a long way. The shelf life is 1 year, so you can even get this product as a staple item in your skin care routine for when your face feels like it truly needs it. If you end up obsessed with this product as much as I am, you'd use it every week. Not to mention the sample of the Translucence Cream was an amazing combination to put on top. Now I'm picky with my moisturizers as I have combination skin and it tends to get dry. The cream is thick but not overly thick or greasy and adds even more moisture to your skin. I would recommend this product for anyone who doesn't mind paying a steep price for a a skin care product that does wonders. I mean, even Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn used Erno Laszlo's products back in the day when you had to be a member just to get the products. Now they're available for us with Erno Laszlo's original slogan behind the products.
