Easy to Use Lip Liners

Monday, December 4, 2017

If it's one thing I NEED more of... it's lip liners. You can never have enough good quality ones, that are easy to apply and are long lasting. I think I found my personal Holy Grail Lip Liner.

From the details of the packaging, to the overall quality of products... Kat Von D Beauty has easily become one of my favorite brands of this year. One thing I have been dying to try, is their lip liners. & boy oh boy am I impressed.

Everlasting Lip Trio - $27

I got a chance to order their 3 piece Everlasting Lip Liner set that comes with the colors: Lolita, Hawkwind, and Homegirl.  Originally $18 a piece, this set comes with three favorite lip liners for the price of $27.

It's designed to be a 24 hour wear that's water resistant as well. Made for comfort and a weightless feel, these lip liners are matte that come in 30 different shades. Mix and match or pair it along with your favorite KVD Everlasting Liquid Lip.

As you can see from the pictures above, the detail of the packaging is amazing. The lip liners are even better themselves.

When first trying out these liners, I was shocked at how creamy and easy to apply they were. Not only that, but the color payoff was very well too. The color is intense and it made my KVD Everlasting Liquid Lipstick last even longer than expected.

Usually I find for pinker lipsticks, they tend to wear away faster. However, using the Lolita Liner with the Lolita Liquid Lipstick, really helped with not only the color payoff, but how well the lipstick lasted as well.

The liners are easily blendable to give you the perfect lip combo when you don't wear to wear the same liner as your lipstick. You can easily create new shades and make your lips look fuller by using a darker toned lip liner than your lipstick.

It will help to make ANY liquid lipstick last longer and it's so easy to use that a beginner with makeup can even try and be successful using this product.
From top to bottom: Homegirl, Hawkwind, and Lolita

Homegirl is a Black Berry shade. Perfect for that deep, bold look or to even make your lips look fuller pairing it with Lolita.

Lolita is your Chestnut Rose. Perfect for any skin tone in my opinion.

Hawkwind is a Nude Sienna shade, perfect to make your lips look slightly fuller, but still natural.

Overall, I'm obsessed with these lip liners and will definitely be purchasing more colors to add to my collection. The pencil is a twist up that doesn't easily break off too. Again, perfect for any makeup savvy person or anyone getting into makeup. It's effortless, easy, and highly pigmented.

What are your favorite lip liners? Let me know in the comments down below!

Cult Classic Foundation

Thursday, November 16, 2017

Cult Classics... Something pretty much everyone loves. For me, finding the right foundation shade and formula is a big deal. & if I find something I really like, it's going to be one of my favorites instantly. That foundation in Make Up Forever Ultra HD foundation

I remember it like it was yesterday... Generation Beauty 2015 in New York. I was able to get a full bottle of this foundation that I got matched with by a professional makeup artist. When I tell you I loved this foundation, I loved it.

At the time I didn't have the money to buy this product again but when I did, I remembered why I fell in love with it so much.

Available in 40 shades, this is natural finished and medium coverage foundation that you can build up to your liking. It feels completely light and thin while giving you a flawless finish. I'm in the shade Y455 - Praline. It blends in with my skin tone so well and the formula isn't too thick or liquidy.

Developed for all skin tones, this foundation was initially developed for TV shows and Movies. It's going to create a natural and flawless finish to the skin while being almost unrecognizable. I like to use this foundation when I want a less glam look but I still want my foundation to sit pretty and last long.

Now I'm going to show you some camera and iPhone shots of this foundation.

2015 - iPhone

2017 - Camera

I just think this foundation and shade is perfect for me. Especially when transitioning from the summer months to the winter months. I can still use the foundation and not look crazy... You know what I mean ;) Have you tried this foundation before? Let me know if you think it's a cult classic and what shade you wear!

Holographic Highlighter

Tuesday, November 14, 2017

When it comes to makeup the more unconventional, the more I'm going to love it. My favorite holographic highlight is Milk Makeup Supernova. A showstopper highlight to make anyone stare just to see.

This is a lavender holographic stick highlight with a creamy consistency that easily blends. The iridescence of the highlight leaves a soft sheer shine that you can build up and apply anywhere you want. It has coconut oil, mango butter, and avocado oil to give you a dewy look.

Milk Makeup Supernova - $28

It's also vegan and compliments any skin tone. For a great price, you're getting a lot of product that can last you a while without you using too much. Especially if you don't use it that often as well. The twist on cap helps to keep the stick from drying out.

I personally like to apply it with a concealer brush and blend it out with my fingers. It leaves the most beautiful glow and is great for tan skin. You can apply it straight to the skin or on top of makeup!

As you can see from the picture above, it's very pigmented with a beautiful lavender glow. Something you can wear to spice up a look or to give you a fairy like glow. This is has been one of my go-tos when I want a creamy highlight that I can build up and achieve a soft but out of this world look.

Now I'm going to show you some makeup looks where I used this product.

Foundation Obsession

Monday, November 13, 2017

We all have that one foundation, you know that one you always reach to whenever you do your makeup. Even if you use other brands, this is that special foundation you see yourself constantly using. For me that's KVD Beauty's Lock It  Foundation.

One thing I love about KVD is their packaging! It's so amazing and will always provide you with great quality and exceptional detail. Not only that, but the overall quality of her products are even better. The sleek design of the bottle was also created to help prevent contamination by having an airless chamber to keep the foundation creamy and perfect for each use.

Lock It Foundation - $35

This is a matte, full coverage foundation developed for all skin types. And when I say this bad boy is matte... it's matte. Designed with a new look, it comes in 30 different shades and has a 24 hour wear. The longevity of this foundation is unbelievable. And it won't look cakey and hardly cracks.

It's a creamy formula that is thick and a little goes a long way. You can use one pump to cover your face or use two to fully cover everything. Believe me when I say you won't need to put concealer on with this foundation, especially if you like a more natural face. And when I say "natural", I mean a not overly done up face. All you need to do is add a little extra under your eyes and BOOM!

You can also purchase KVD Lock It Hydrating primer that will also help with the wear of the foundation. You can also mix it with the foundation to create a dewy and medium coverage formula. The more primer you add, the more sheer and glowing the product is going to look.

Now I'm going to show you some of the pictures I have with 3 different foundation shades.

Medium Warm 62

Medium Warm 65

Deep 66

As you can tell my tan fluctuates quite often and I can work with either doing one of the foundations alone or I can mix the foundations to get my perfect shade. Have you tried KVD Beauty Lock It foundation? Let me to know in the comments below and share your pictures!

Shimmering Skin Perfector

Wednesday, November 8, 2017

We all have that holy grail product we come across every now and then. I'm super late to the game, but Becca Cosmetics Cream Champagne Pop is my new favorite everyday highlighter.

A soft white gold with pinky/peach undertones, this is the best and natural looking highlight for everyday use. I love my highlight so much and gold colors tend to compliment my skin very well. This has been a big talked about highlight for a while. I was happy when I got it at Sephora on sale and was shocked at the creamy but pigmented intensity is has. I tend to stay away from white based highlights because it can make tanner skin look ashy, but let me tell you. I haven't touched another highlight since I got this one.

Becca Champagne Pop - $38

The pink and peach undertones definitely give this highlight a great combo of a white based with a colored undertone that can pretty much compliment any skin tone. It gives you a delicate smooth and sophisticated glow that I promise you will get complimented on every time you use it.

The compact is small enough to carry with you on the daily, if you ever wanted to add more or do a touch a touch up. The softness of the cream highlight gives you a radiant yet natural glow to the skin. Easy to blend and easy to use, Champagne Pop is now my go to highlight. It's also good for dry and mature skin as the low maintenance of the product is easy enough for anyone to use, even a makeup beginner.

As you can see from the swatch above, the highlight isn't overbearing to the eye and it easily blendable. The formula is so creamy that I was almost shocked at how it applied. I would use a flat foundation brush or maybe even a concealer brush to apply the product and blend it out with my fingers.

I'm going to show you what Champagne Pop looks on my skin tone with a few different looks.

As you can see above, the cream highlight gives a nice soft glow to the skin. Nothing too overpowering and you can always add more or less for your personal preference.

In this picture, you can see the reflect of the glow on my nose. This highlight is perfect for creating your full glam makeup looks as it will bring an added smooth yet bright glow to the skin. Great for that added pop of glow.

I'm always hesitant when purchasing a makeup product that is "hyped" up, but I'm so glad that I got and fell in love with this highlight! It's literally one of the best cream highlights I ever used that I can't seem to get away from. Do you have Champagne Pop? Leave a comment down of your pictures so I can see your beautiful glow!

Dia De Los Muertos

Wednesday, October 25, 2017

Themed lipstick collections are always my favorite. From the packaging to the colors and of course the product names. I'm a sucker for a good lipstick collection and LA Splash is always coming through with awesome collections, and continously adding more. My current favorite is their 2016 Dia De Los Muertos liquid lipsticks.

Featuring six different metallic colors, this collection has by far been one of my favorite from LA Splash. I was able to get these four colors from Dollskill, on sale, and I'm dying to complete the collection. Although you can find the full collection on LA Splash Canada site.

The 6 different colors are Frida, La Bella Muerte, Milagros, El Catrin, El Beso, and Los Novios. All different unique mettalic shades with a beautiful design, different for each color.

I'm obsessed with packaging details. I will buy a product if the packaging is nice enough and I couldn't get this collection when it first came out, but when I saw it on another site, I had to get my hands on it. The four colors that I got were El Catrin, Frida, La Bella Muerte, and Milagros.

These colors apply like a smooth liquid lipstick and dry to a nice demi matte while also providing a beautiful metallic look. Be cautious though, a little goes a long way and the more you apply, the dryer it will feel. My suggestion is to apply a thin enough layer and let the lipstick dry fully. Don't rub your lips together when you're letting it dry as you can make the lipstick feel dry when it actually feels good on the lips. It's super long lasting, so touch up are only needed after a solid few hours.. granted you eat and drink.

Frida, El Catrin, La Bella Muerte, Milagros

Here are my true to color swatches with each liquid lipstick fully dried from top to bottom.. It's hard to capture the essence of the metallic from pictures, but in person they are so beautiful.

The intensity of the pigmentation is mind blowing and you really don't need a lot of product to get the true color to show. La Bella Muerte is definitely that color that makes you stand out and it's not one of your typical "every day" color, but it's amazing nonetheless.

Frida is a metallic coral shade with orange hues that is the perfect everyday red lipstick with a pop of glam. One of my go to colors that I tend to get a lot of compliments on and the metallic show of the color is really a show stopper.

El Catrin is a deeper red shade that is has a crimson hue to it. A darker shade of red to add extra boldness and a sexy addition to a full on glam look.

For the unconventional makeup lover, La Bella Muerte is the perfect shade to turn heads and give you an out of this world lip color. It has a mettalic brown hue with grey undertones that gives you a different kind of lipstick shade. A staple piece for one who goes out the norm when it comes to lipstick shades.

Milagros is a taupe-y nude color that intensifies your regular nude color. Perfect for the person who wants a metallic lip that is nude and you can wear with any look you pair it with. Although it is different than your normal nude color, this will make you feel even great about wearing nude colors.

This is a great collection and I can't wait to see what other collections they come out with. Right now they have their Classic Horror collection out that looks so bomb. I've always wanted to try their liquid lipsticks and I'm honestly in love with them. Have you ever tried LA Splash liquid lipsticks? Let me know in the comments down below!

Persuede Me

Wednesday, April 19, 2017

I'm usually hesistant when it comes to buying lipstick sets. Always fearing that I won't be able to use all the colors in the pack and wondering if I'm really saving my money. ColourPop never fails when it comes to their products and I just had to snag this lipstick set called Persuede Me.

This collection of ColourPop lippie stix features 6 different shades, which I personally feel are a good collection of nudes with some pop of color too. I think for a beginner wearing lipstick, this is the perfect set because it has the neutrals with some dark colors and a nice red too. A perfect set of lippie stix that you can use for different occasions, now retailing at $20.

The Persuede Me set also comes in this cute little box with a mirror. It's perfect to display on your vanity, as the outer box is decorative and it's small enough not to take up too much space. This set is available for a limited time now, and it's $5 cheaper than the orginal price, so you're saving $10 if you count the retail value for each individual lippie stix.

  • Goldie - Rich Brick Red
  • Upside Down - Light Peach
  • Hotline - Midtone Dirty Peach
  • Le Freak - Deep Red Wine
  • Daydream - Plummy Brown
  • Ziggie - Dark Terracotta
The colors are also very pigmented. The swatches being a swipe or two of the lipstick. It's like your typtical lipstick, but in a stick form, with the tip being more rounded for application. It's the perfect size to put on your lips, while still being able to develop a shape with it. You can also pair these up with ColourPop's lip liner or a gloss on top. I think they are the perfect go to lipsticks and can go with any look.

The formula feels very smooth as well. When you apply it on your lips, you get this soft sensation that almost feels like a cloud gliding onto your lips. It can smear if you of course rubbed your fingers on it, but I find when eating or drinking, it holds up pretty well. I like the formula of ColourpPop lippie stix, so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed when I bought this set.

The only color for me that was a little hard to work with, was Upside Down. Since it is such a bright peach color, you can use a brown lip pencil to calm it down. However, on tanner skin tones, it just looks too bright. This color would be perfect for someone with a paler skin tone, but again, you can always use a lip liner to tone a color down or balance it out. Ziggie and Hotline are definitely my favorite colors and again, this is like a go to lip collection. You can use any of the colors with a bold or subtle look, and still look really good. The formula is good on the lips and isn't drying at all. I highly recommend getting this lip collection before it's no longer avaible. Remember, you'll be saving $10 by purchasing! Have you tried out ColourPop Lippie Stix? Leave a comment down below and let me know!

WINTER SkinCare Routine

Monday, February 6, 2017

Winter.. Oh Winter. Where your skin dries up and you have to make sure to really cater to it. Today, I'm going to be sharing with you my Winter skin care routine that really helps keep my skin moisturized. A combinatin of products from Pixi Beauty, Derma E, and Hey Honey help to keep my skin hyrdated and moisturized.

Starting off I want to let you all know that I have combination/sensitive skin, so I have to be cautious of the products that I use. I always try my products out for a few weeks before I give my honest review on them, so that you are getting the my best opinion on these products. Everyone's skin is different, so what may work for me, may not work for you. Make sure you look into these products if you want to try them out. :)

My morning routine consists of 5 products that I have been using for a while. If you're familiar with my other skin care blog posts, you would know that I love the Derma E purifying cleanser already, so it's definitely a must in my routine!

  1. Derma E Purifying Gel Cleanser - I love this product for the morning, it helps to refresh my face and doesn't dry it out after I use it.
  2. Pixi Glow Tonic - I have been trying this product out for a while now and I love how you only need to small drops of product for your face. For best results, I suggest putting the product in your palm, then rubbing it on  your hands. After that, softly pat the product on your face and neck if desired. I also like how this toner doesn't have a harsh smell to it and isn't as drying as other toners I have tried before.
  3. Hey Honey Good Morning Serum - One of my favorite serums, I love putting this on after my toner, especially if I'm going to be doing my makeup that day.
  4. Pixi Glowtion Day Dew - Slowly becoming one of my favorite moisturizers, this product is great if you want to seem like you're glowing from within. The product not only hydrates your face, but also gives you a nice illuminated face before makeup application.
  5. Pixi 24k Eye Elixir - I'm still not sure if I love or hate this product. You can't really feel if the product is going on since it is a roller ball and I'm not sure if it's my toner or the eye elixir making my dark circles a little light. I have to continue using this product to see how it is.

My night routine also consists of 5 products as well. Still including the Pixi Glowtonic and the 24k Eye Elixir. This combination of products help to keep my skin moisturized throughout the night and my face feel so plump and smooth in the morning!

  1. Derma E Daily Detox Scrub - This is an essential face scrub for night especially after makeup use. It makes your skin feel brand new and like all your impurities are out of your face.
  2. Pixi Glow Tonic - Ofcourse you have to follow up with toner and I'm always reaching for this pixi one.
  3. Pixi Rose Oil Blend - I only like to use this product at night because it is an oil and makes my face feel a little greasy during the day, so for me it's better to use at night. I use about two drops and pat it on my face like my toner, sometimes going for my neck as well. It's a great way to add extra moisture to your face.
  4. Pixi Beauty Sleep Cream - If you had to choose a product for your "beauty sleep", this would be the product. A little is all you need to keep you hydrated for the morning. Beauty sleep in a bottle.
  5. Pixi 24k Eye Elixir - It does say that you can use this product night and day, so I use it two times to try and get the extra benefits.

Every other day I love to follow up with some of these Derma E products. I do have a blog post on Derma E products that you can check out here. I like to switch it up and use each of these twice a week on alternating days.

  • Derma E Overnight Peel - This is perfect for someone who always wears makeup or most of the time at least. It will instantly refresh your face over night. Perfect for overnight because you do look like a grease ball wearing it!
  • Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub - This is perfect to keep your face free of dead skin and to really get in their and deep cleanse your skin. This is good for people with sensitive skin!
  • Derma E 2-1 Charcoal Mask - I love this product because it's quick to apply, quick to dry, and quick to rinse off. A 5 minute mask that will make your face feel instantly refreshed.

These are the products I'm going to be using them pretty much until their gone or the weather gets better. This routine works great for me. What's your skin care routine? Let me know in the comments down below!

✨NEW✨ Pixi Beauty MultiBalms

Thursday, August 18, 2016

If you could have a portable makeupstick, that's easy to use and easy to store, would you bring it with you everywhere? Well here's your chance, I'm sharing with you my thoughts on Pixi Beauty's new Multibalms!

Pixi Beauty was kind enough to send me all five shades of their new multibalms. I've tested these bad boys for a couple of weeks now, in different temperatures, using different techniques to see which is the best way to use these multibalms.

These multibalm sticks are intended for your cheeks and for your lips. To give a nice pigmented color and comes in five different shades. The shades are Baby Petal (Petal), Soft Strawberry (Red Berry), Wild Rose (Mauve Rose), Sheer Sculpt (Cocoa), and Watermelon Veil (Pink). The multibalms have aloe vera, shea butter, and rose hip oil to give it its creamy texture, that is also a more cream/powder finish, retailing at $12 each. Sheer Sculpt is one of those shades that you can use to contour with, which is a plus.

When I first swatched them on my Snapchat (Tislee), I was like YES! But when I first tried it, I was like Oh god No, No. Clearly I wasn't using it right on my skin. I applied way too much, in one spot that I couldn't blend out quick enough and it felt a little too creamy on my face. It added texture to my skin and I didn't like that so much but I was determined to work with this because I love the colors. After using a stippling brush, I was like YES HONEY! GIVE ME LIFE SWEET PIXI! I was able to blend the colors out more and even focus it on one direct area at a time. I find that using a stippling brush as opposed to a dense brush, really makes the product look a whole lot better. It doesn't give off as much texture but the color payoff is well and you don't have to worry about applying too much product because you have control over how much you put on your brush. These have been like my go to blushes for the past few weeks.

I find myself reaching for Soft Strawberry and Wild Rose everytime that I do my makeup. Those are my absolute favorite colors because when you apply Soft Strawberry on your cheeks, it gives off a nice flushed face look. Which I'm absolutely loving right now. And when you put it on your lips, first it feels like heaven. The color payoff is also so well that it looks like a bold lipstick when you're wearing it. There's no limitations when it comes to these multibalms, you can use them alone or combine them to make different shades. I also think they work well with each skin tone because the blush doesn't look too heavy but it has enough pigmentation that it shows up on skin tones like mine. The only stick I didn't like was the Sheer Sculpt because it didn't define my face as well as I hoped it would do. It sort of just blended into my skin tone but I can see people with medium and fair skin tones using this to contour. It's a nice alternative that you can bring with you everywhere.

Overall, I love these multibalms. They feel very good on your lips and on your face as well. The pigmentation is great and it will even last through humid weather and some sweat. I went to Connecticut and the air was different than New Jersey, so I stayed out almost all day to test the wear of the multibalms and I was suprised that it didn't wear off throughout the day. The intensity may have gone down, but the color was still there. Definitely one of my favorite multipurpose sticks to use. Have you tried these out yet? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below and I'll see you soon.
