Face Fashion: Ipsy's September 2015 Glam Bag

Monday, September 28, 2015

Hey everyone,

Welcome back to my blog and in this post, I'm going to be sharing with you Ipsy's September 2015 glam bag. This month has product features from NYX, Eau Thermale Avenue, Temptu, City Color Cosmetics, TrustFund Beauty, ClariSEA, Crown Brush, TRESemme, Laneige, J.Cat Beauty, Octavio Molina Hair, Acur, Garnier Frutis, Bayberry Naturals, Vasanti Cosmetics, Pixi Beauty, Liptini, Tre'stique, Swissco, So Fresh So Clean, First Aid Beauty, Evelyn Iona Cosmetics, Glam Glow, Elizabeth Mott, Naobay Natural and Organic, Juvia's, The Balm, Not Soap Radio, and Formula X. This month's theme was called Face Fashion with the products being geared towards your fashion day out!

The first product I got was this custom NYX and Ipsy eyeshadow trio. This color is perfect for anyone who wants to do a subtle yet gorgeous smokey eye. I used the center shade as a transition color and used the darker shade as a definer in my cream. I used the lighter shade as a base. What was good about the lighter shade was that for me, it came out as more of a white highlighter. So it was perfect to use as a base and also good enough to use as a highlighter if you wanted it to be that way. The colors were easy to blend and if you use the too faced eyeshadow primer, the colors really stick and last the whole way.

Next, I got this EAU Thermale Avenue moisture mask. What I loved about this mask was how hydrating it was to your face. I put a thick application on in order to ensure that I'm getting the most of out my product. I put it on for about 15 to 20 minutes. With this face mask, when you put it on it's white, but when it dries, it dries up clear. This was a lot better than the dead sea mud mask I used because it was able to get me a lot more moisture in my face. It was perfect to pair with Cetaphil right after. I was able to get two uses out of this product only because I put a lot of my face. I loved the feel of it against my skin and my skin felt baby smooth soft right after I washed it off. This is a product that I would buy more of.

I've been dying to try Temptu products for a long time. If you don't know, Temptu really specializes in air brush makeup. Even though I don't have an air brush system, you can still use this product to your advantage. For me, I like to put this product on the back of my hand and then use a fluffy blending brush to apply it. I find that it caters to the product better and you're able to fully put the product on without anything bothering you. It blends out seamlessly and it looks flawless on tanner complexions. I was worried it wouldn't show up a lot, but it really catered to skin in a great way. It definitely complimented my skin tone so much!

The next product that I got was this City Color lipstick in the shade one night stand. The lipstick was very smooth to put it. It glides on your lips so easily, however it didn't last long like I expected. I do my makeup around 5:30-6:00 AM and by 9:00 AM, it was already coming off. I'm used to using lipsticks that last a long time during the day. Since I left it at home, I wasn't able to apply more product. It transfers to other surfaces more than other lip products. So this is good if you only need to wear lipstick for a short amount of time, but it's not something I would recommend if you're looking for a long lasting lipstick.

The last product that I got was this Trust Fund beauty nail polish in the color Elegantly Wasted. Let me start off by saying I LOVE this color of nail polish. It's that perfect purple yet periwinkle color to wear. This color would have been perfect for the spring but it's equally perfect for the fall too. It compliments my skin tone so well and I love it. I first used it by putting it on my toes and it lasts a pretty decent amount of time. However, if you're a handons person and you don't  put clear nailpolish on top, it isn't going to last that long. I put it on yesterday and I already see it chipping. So if you're going to use this product, it's best that you put a nice top coat on top to ensure it lasts long. It does have a strong smell to it but it dries pretty nice. So the advantages of this product definitely out weighs the disadvantages.

This is the makeup look I created using the items in my bag! Do you like it? Should I start posting my makeup pictures on my blog? Leave a comment down below and let me know.

Overall, I loved this month's glam bag. It definitely was Face Fashion forward, especially with the bag that they give you as well. I loved majority of the products and I wished the city color lipstick worked better for me for my long days. Remember you can sign up for Ipsy by clicking here. White Space

Saturday, September 26, 2015

Hey everyone,

In today's blog post I'm going to be sharing with you an up and coming design company called White Space. White Space was created by one of my good friends and her boyfriend. They were awesome enough to design the header on my page for my and do my signature as well. While they are up and coming, their talent is nonetheless and only getting better by the days.

They were wonderful to work with on a business aspect. The listened to exactly what I wanted in a header. Something simplistic, yet enough to grab your eye. So not only did they did create a header for me, but they gave me different options that I could choose from and sent me all the files for them so I can have them if I want to change it. They were also kind enough to see that my signature didn't match with my layout, so they created something simple but again eye catching. The process didn't take long and their business etiquette was equally  professional. I have a quote from the company explaining the idea behind their company and why they wanted to get into the business.

"In a nutshell whitespace is an agency that create relationships between clients and their target audiences. Those relationships will in return feed the business. With a collective 20+ years of experience we have come to believe that after creating the relationship you must then feed the relationship. Whitespace does this by getting peoples attention by targeting large audiences with a creative message that is very provocative in order to set the stage for a really intimate conversation which then leads to an ongoing relationship between the client and their target audiences. Whitespace does not just create logos, flyers, media kits, ETC,. We are not right-handed or left-handed, we are an ambidextrous entity that uses both hands, and a number of other appendages.
We want to ignore the rules, explore, and do what ever the hell we want; Now who's gonna be the Medici family and stand up and let us create more."

I recommend that if you're looking for a nice header or anything graphic design related, a new layout maybe, to consult with them. You can go to connect with them here. If you want to check them out Twitter and Tumblr, you can go here and here. P.S. They created the picture just for this blog post! Isn't that awesome. Definitely check them out.

Ipsy Me offer: Noyah Glass Half Full

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

Hey everyone,

Welcome back to my page if you're new here, my name is Leann and I love to review makeup! Today's blog post will be cover Ipsy's offer for Noyah's glass half full duo lipstick and lip gloss in Malbec.

I got these two on sale for $19.50 with free shipping, for a 42% off discount! That's what I love about being subscribe to Ipsy. We always get deals like this and we don't ever have to pay for the shipping either. How great it that?

Noted on Ipsy.com, it says how the lipstick is meant to be very pigmented and super hydrating. The lip gloss is to basically add shine and this was an ipsy exclusive red wine color that was created. The formula on the lipstick is semi matte so add that with the lip gloss and you're good to go unless lipgloss really isn't your thing. Whats great about the lipgloss is that it isn't as pigmented as the lipstick, so if you wanted to, you can wear it alone. You basically have a product that is good to wear either by themselves or together. Isn't that like a 3 in 1?!

What's also great about this brand is that they don't test on animals. They are also paraben and sulfate-free! Noyah is an all natural cosmetic line that focuses on nature for its packaging. What's also good about their packaging is that it's made out of bamboo and it's completely recyclable! Their mission is to make products that women and men can use without having to be conscious about the chemicals that can potentially end up in your mouth.

Now let me just say. I love this lipstick. The first product in both the lipstick and lipgloss is a type of oil. I forgot the exact one but that's a plus. That means that the product is mainly made up of oil. Which makes the lipstick and the lipgloss very smooth to apply. The lipstick literally feels like butter on your lips and the lip gloss.. man that lip gloss doesn't even feel like a lip gloss. It's crazy to think that it was a lip gloss because of how it didn't stick like a normal one. Instead, the lip gloss applied very smooth and it made a difference but it wasn't too dramatic where your lips look too oily. It just made the semi matte finish of the lipstick a little bit shinier and more reflective.

The pictures really don't do justice for how good the product actually looks. As you can see, the lip gloss is almost shear but it has enough color where you still getting the pay off from it. This color is actually perfect for me to use on my own because it almost matches my lip shade. Which is even more of a plus because it'll give me a nice tint without having to worry about having too much or your lips being too shiny. It was perfectly in the middle. I'm loving berry wine shades.

What I love about the lipstick too is it's ability to give you a highly pigmented color without having to worry about a lot coming off. You can easily dab your lips with a napkin or powder so it smear as much, but it definitely will still have a color payoff. When i say this lipstick lasted almost 6 hours with eating.... it came pretty darn close. I love the packaging, I love the smell, and I love the color of the lipstick. This is something I'll definitely purchase in the future. You can check out Noyah Cosmetics here and subscribe to Ipsy here. What's cool is that Noyah actually featured me on their IG! How cool is that?! From one beauty lover to another, see you soon

Customize your EM Cosmetic Palette

Monday, September 7, 2015

Hey Everyone,

In today's post I'm going to show you how you can customize your em cosmetics palette! I put an option in for you to read what to do if you can't watch the video. If you can watch it, please do and subscribe to me! I put hard work to get this video together for you and I hope you watch it. If not, keep on reading and make sure to tell your friends!

  • First you want to start of by getting your empty EM palette and products you want to put inside of your palette. I gathered a broken face powder, a highlighter, 2 lipsticks, and concealer.

  • Next, you want to clean out your palette. You can use whatever you want to clean it, I decided to go with clorox wipes so that it disinfects my palette at the same time. It depends on how much product you have left and what you want to do with it. Mine was pretty empty because I really like this concealer palette.

  • The first thing you want to do is start with your biggest space. For me, I decided to put my face powder in the middle because it's my go to powder. Then you just want to break it up (if it's not broken) or break it up more if it is. You want it to be a nice and fine for when you mix it with alcohol.

  • After you're done with that, you want to scoop some of the product into the pan. You want to put enough so that it fills the space but enough for when you alcohol to it. When you add the alcohol, you want to make sure not to put too much at a time  other wise it will spill out and you will get the product everywhere. Trust me! It makes a lot of mess.

  • Then you should repeat the process with any other powders that you want to put in your palette. I chose an eyeshadow/highlighter because it broke and this was perfect to put it in. I just crushed it up some more and then I repeated the process.

  • After you add the alcohol and mix it, you want to try to smooth it out and shape it while it's still wet. Then you should wait a couple of hours for it to dry. That way when it starts to dry, all you have to do is get a damp paper towel and smooth it out so it isn't bump. Michelle Phan has a video all about that

  • For this next part, you definitely want a parent/guardian or anyone old enough to help you if you're young. The next step is to melt your lipsticks to put it in the pan. Don't worry about the spoon getting black, it will wash off.

  • To make sure that it's really melted, you want to use a little bit at a time. And again, be careful because the lighter will get hot and the product will dry quick. So make sure you melt enough to fill the container. I also used a bit of extra so I can make my own lipstick in one of the bigger pans.

  • Now again, you want to repeat the process with another lipstick if you're using another one. I filled one small container and used the rest to make my own lipstick. When mixing two lipsticks, It's better to melt them together, but I didn't do that. I ended up just using a knife to mix it together and smooth it out.

  • The last part is to fill the last part with whatever you want. For me, I put some of my concealer in there and I let it sit in the freezer for about 25 minutes. You also want to make sure to let this air dry over night or 24 hours to make sure all the alcohol is dissolved and that the lipsticks are smooth and ready to use.

This is the final result!

What did you think about my post? Did you like? Would you want more blog posts/videos like this? Let me know in the comments down below! From one beauty lover to another, see you soon.

NJ Easy to Play and Win

Thursday, September 3, 2015

The NJ Lottery has come out with a new game called Fast Play. These are tickets that are printed out on demand and available to you for easy to read results.

With these games you’re getting your results faster because don’t have to scratch it off. You don’t have to select numbers either. All have you to do is go to a place that sells lottery tickets and ask to play Fast Play and name which game you want to play. The games are Bling Bling Bucks ($15), Slots of Fun ($2), Fast Cash ($1), and Red Hot Numbers ($1). They’re also going to be having a $10 game at a later date too for more of a chance to win a higher money payout. The way that you play is that you have to look at the symbols that you get to see if you are a winner. The games mainly include having to have 3 symbols all together or in a row. There are currently for different games that you can play. The money payout that you win depends on which game that you play and which symbols you match up. They’re also going to be having a $10 game at a later date too for more of a chance to win a higher money payout. What they are also going to do is refresh the games every few months as well.

I got my fast play tickets at my local 711. It was only a five minute drive from my store. You can also go to your local Quick Check, Wawa, or any other play you like to get your lottery tickets. I played the Bling Bling Bucks twice, Red Hot Numbers once, Fast Cash twice, and Slots of fun once. What’s good about these games is that you have more of a chance to win because there are many ways and different money payouts included into one game. Some of the games even have small bonus games as well for easy to win money. You can also have a chance of wining double the payout if you get a certain symbol in each game. I played, and although I wasn’t a winner, there is still more chance for you to win because you have around a 1 to 4 chance to win as to playing against millions of other people. This is a fun game to play when you don’t want to play the bigger lotteries or you don’t want to deal with scratch offs. It’s printed out on a ticket on demand as well, that way you don’t have to wait for anything. The Fast Play games are easy to look at too because all you have to do is see if your symbols match. Its it a fun and different way to play your lottery without having to do too much work or waiting around. You can check out their games here
